Adding Resources
If you want to add a new activity or material to the Resource Library, select the Add a Resource button
from the Resource Library Page. This will take you to an online form that will ask you for detailed
information about the Resource you want to add.
On the form, you will notice that some fields have a red asterisk (*) next to them. These fields are
required. In other words, you will not be allowed to add a resource unless all of the fields marked
as required have been completed. (NOTE: At this time, only the resource Name is required.) However,
you should fill in any additional information that you have about each resource so that our database
can be as complete as possible.
The first thing you will be asked to enter is if your resource will be a Public or
Private resource. Public means that you wish your resource to be
submitted for approval to be part of our resources database and available to anyone who may wish to
search for it. Other site users may find your resource in a search, and add it to their curriculum.
Private means you only wish the resource to be available to you.
Regardless of which you choose, the resource will appear right away in your "Appropriate Activities"
or "Appropriate Materials" list (depending on type) in a separate table which lists resources
you added to the Web site yourself (we'll talk more about this in the section on the Curriculum
Builder). If you chose "private," nothing else happens. However, if you chose "public" the resource
will be submitted for approval to the Web site administrators before it appears in the public
Resource Library. You will receive an e-mail from the administrator when your resource is either
approved or rejected.
Once you have entered all of the data for your resource, hit the Add button. If there are any errors
(e.g., a required field that was not completed), you will be asked to fix them before continuing. If
there are no errors, your resource will be added.
