Resource Library top navigation button
Before we start building a curriculum, let's look at what's available in the Resource Library.

When you select the Resource Library button from the main navigation bar, you will be taken to an area of the site that lets you work directly with the site's database of prevention activities and resources. From here you may view and search the resources in our database. The Resource Library contains both Activities and Materials.

An Activity is defined as any lesson that may include a lesson plan, that has an objective and involves youth in an active role in the learning process. Additionally, activities require interaction between the facilitator (person or computer) and the student. A Material is a stand-alone aid that may supplement an activity; it doesn't require interaction and the student can usually manipulate it alone or without instruction.

You may also add new resources to the library. As soon as you add a new resource, it will be available for your use when building new curricula. However, any new resource that is added by a user will be reviewed and verified by our staff before being added for access by all registered users. This assures you that only valid information is included in the database.

This area of the site also provides links to other prevention information including links to other sites, curricula, and agencies dealing with prevention activities.
